Quench Your Thirst (John 4:5-26)

The Third Sunday in Lent, March 12, 2023

First Reading: Exodus 17:1-7. The children of Israel wanted to stone Moses because they were thirsty. So God, in his grace, gave this undeserving people water from a stone.

Second Reading: Romans 5:1-8. We were like people dying of thirst who were powerless to help themselves. But God’s love has been poured out into our hearts like living water.

Gospel and Sermon Text: John 4:5-27. Our Greatest Needs: Water for the Thirsty

Drink from Jesus’ living water in worship alongside brothers and sisters in Christ who likewise worship God in spirit and in truth.

Drink from Jesus’ living water in Bible study and home devotions as you examine the Scripture that God wrote for you.

Drink from Jesus’ living water so that you may always and forever quench your soul’s thirst.

Amen
